LMIA Done With Confidence
Whether you're recruiting a skilled worker from abroad or keeping a valued employee whose specialized expertise is hard to find at home, I'll guide you through the Labour Market Impact Assessment process with clarity and care.

LMIAs Handled End-to-End by an RCIC Who Loves This Work
I've supported BC employers through LMIAs for years, and I genuinely enjoy this work. As a Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant (RCIC #531931) and a Licensed BC Recruitment Agency and Temporary Foreign Worker Recruiter, I can handle every step from confirming whether you need an LMIA in the first place, through the advertising, the application, ESDC's questions, and the work permit support on the other side. What I see in practice is that LMIAs go best when they're treated as a workforce strategy, not just a form whether you're recruiting an essential international hire or working to retain someone already on your team, the path is the same: clear up front, careful in the middle, calm at the end.
LMIAs Don't Have to Feel Like a Mountain
The LMIA process can be daunting. ESDC requirements shift without warning, advertising rules have to be exactly right, and processing timelines can stretch for months with a hiring or retention plan that hinges on getting the LMIA approved on time. For a busy employer, that's the last thing you need. Foreign workers and specialized employees aren't just headcount they're people whose lives, families, and futures depend on this approval as much as your business plan does. Good LMIA work honours both the business case and the human one.
- Recruitment-Driven LMIAs bringing skilled foreign workers in to fill roles you can't fill locally.
- Retention-Driven LMIAs keeping a valued Canada-based employee whose expertise you depend on.

Working With Evoke HR
I work with employers who care about their people — who value the workers they hire as much as the roles they need to fill. I bring care, precision, and years of practice to every LMIA, and I treat every application as a partnership, not a transaction. I take the time to understand your business, the person whose future depends on this approval, and the workforce strategy behind the hire — then tailor the approach accordingly. I know immigration. I know what ESDC expects. And I know how to make a complex process feel manageable. I love this work.
Evoke is a Chilliwack-based boutique immigration and HR consultancy working with employers across British Columbia.

A steady process — because your business, and the person you're bringing in, are worth doing this right.

LMIA Support That Feels Different
A dedicated RCIC in your corner from strategy through submission and beyond. The process feels less overwhelming. Timelines actually make sense. The person you're bringing in — or keeping — feels supported, not just processed.

- What is an LMIA? A Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) is a document issued by Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC) confirming that an employer needs to hire a foreign worker and that no qualified Canadian or permanent resident is available for the role. It's usually required before a foreign worker can apply for a work permit.
- When does my business need an LMIA? Most often when you're hiring a foreign worker for a specific role, or when you need to support an employee already in Canada whose continued employment depends on a new or extended work permit. Some International Mobility Programs (IMPs) exempt the need for an LMIA. I can confirm which stream applies to your situation.
- Can you help with both new hires from abroad and retaining someone already here? Yes, those are the two most common reasons clients come to me. The path looks different from the outside, but the support I provide is the same: clear up front, careful in the middle, calm at the end.
- How long does an LMIA take to process? Processing times vary based on the type of LMIA and ESDC's current volume. Some streams move quickly; others take several months. We'll plan your timeline together so the LMIA fits the rest of your hiring or retention plan.
- What does an LMIA cost? There's the ESDC application fee, advertising costs, and the time and expertise of the LMIA preparation itself. I'll scope the work up front so there are no surprises.
- What happens after the LMIA is approved? The approved LMIA enables the foreign worker to apply for a work permit, which I can also handle. From there, ongoing employer compliance and future immigration steps including permanent residency pathways, can all be supported under one roof.
- Why work with an RCIC for an LMIA? Because LMIAs sit at the intersection of immigration law, recruitment regulation, and employer compliance getting any one of those pieces wrong is costly. As an RCIC and a licensed recruiter, I work in all three at once, every day.
