Harmonic Machine Inc., operating in Chilliwack, BC, is hiring a CNC Machinist to join their team within MDT Manufacturing, a division of Harmonic. The Role:
The CNC Machinist is responsible for setting up, programming, and operating a variety of CNC machines to produce precision parts. This role also supports process documentation, mentorship of junior team members, and continuous improvement initiatives on the shop floor.
Key responsibilities include:
- Set up and operate CNC machinery efficiently
- Produce accurate and consistent machined components
- Write and modify CNC programs as needed
- Maintain detailed and updated setup sheets
- Report tooling damage or machine issues promptly
- Keep a clean and organized workstation
- Participate in tool and equipment purchasing decisions
- Support and mentor apprentices and machine operators
The Requirements:
- Red Seal Machinist certification or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 5 years of machining experience
- Ability to work graveyard shift (10:00 pm – 6:30 am)
- Strong technical, problem-solving, and team collaboration skills
Assets include:
- Experience using Gibbs CAM software
- Familiarity with Brother, Okuma, Nakamura, and Haas equipment
- Experience with 4- and 5-axis mills and mill/turn machinery
Terms of Employment: Permanent, full-time position. Graveyard shift (10 pm to 6:30 am)
Wage: $35.00-$45.00 per hour based on experience
